Where should I go??
 

:):):)My dad came over last night and told me that if I would pick somewhere for us to deer hunt anywhere in the US, he would pay for it.![:o]:D

Where should I go? Preferably someplace within a 2 day drive of Florida.
Im from Florida so Im used to bucks with smaller racks. Biggest deer ive killed had a 19" spread. Any information you could give me would be appreciated.

2 Day drive? Well I used to live in Naples florida and could drive to Harrisburg PA in one day SO.....
In all honesty, PA has the largest population of whitetail deer in the US.

I think I would decide what I wanted and what type of terraine I intend to hunt. Mid-west deer are noted for those hugh racks, as does South Texas. The upper-midwest and Northeast brags about their deer size. It depends on what you really intend to shoot, the areas you like to hunt, accomodations, regulations, (shotgun only etc). Good Luck and one last comment...I think Texas with over 3 million deer has the largest population. I know they number also includes mule deer, so I'll have to check.

Hoopy, you're right there are a ton of deer in PA. However given the choice of anywhere I would have to say without a doubt Illinois. You will see alot more buck then you will in PA and they have larger body size and racks on average. In a coulpe of years PA's herd may be better proportioned with alot more larger deer but for the time being I don't think it can compete with Illinois IMHO.

if i were to say somewhere in illinois i would pick pike county but then again all of illinois is good:D

you wanting to bow or rifle hunt, spot and stalk or stands, cold as crap or not so bad, price range, anwer these few ??'s and will give you my opinion

Price range maybe between 1500 and 2500 each with accomodations.
Hunting trophy whitetails with rifles. Any terrain.

well if you want rifle then count illinois out because you cant hunt deer with rifles here.....wish we could though
