Tiny Bodied Buck
Here is another photo that I got in a different location on a deer trail. What I think is interesting is the small body of the deer in front. Could it just be the angle? This picture is from July 1. I've got to stop setting my camera every 30 seconds(this is getting pricey, but worth it I guess).

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
It could be just the angle. It does look odd , it appears that the bigger racked buck is closer which should make his body look bigger. If indeed he is a younger (smaller bodied) buck with a rack that size he's definately going to be a real trophy in a couple years.

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
maybe a pygmy

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
He's gonna be a big boy one day!

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
Dont be alarmed with the small body/weight. The antlers are what gets you in the Boone & Crockett Club. A few years ago, there was a nice buck taken on the King Ranch here in Texas. The deer field dressed out at a whopping 95 lbs[&o] but the head gear measured 239 and change[:-].

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
He look's small but he might catch up later .He might end up as heavy or even heavier than the other deer ,they all come in different shapes and sizes just like we do.

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
either hes small or his buddy is a hefty one.....look at the legs in comparision...he just looks like a young deer.....probably his first rack on his head.....or wait......maybe its a fake picture!!! (sorry i had to say it before someone else beat me to it....i have no reason to doubt any pics on here.....or fully trust them....but i dont assume pics are fake like some..that was a joke lol....)

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
thats odd. hopefully that body catches up to the rack some before the season. if not, he will have a nice rack in a couple of years

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
small , but I'll take him.[8D]

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
Maybe the bigger one is just a giant.:D:D:D

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
midget deer eat good to[&:]

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
yea he is small bodied for sure. However like someone said on this post is that small deer carry big racks that is for sure. He could be a great buck one day

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
I studied the photo for about two minutes and conclude that the bigger deer is actually behind the smaller deer, so it couldn't be the camera angle. I think that the small one is a young deer with very good genes and has the potential to be a true trophy class buck if allowed to live 3 more years or so. The bigger deer is a much older buck, look at his belly line and the pronounced brisket. Just goes to show you that each deer is unique. The smaller deer does not have much of a brisket yet and the space between his front legs is very narrow. He is probably only going on a year and a half old. Or they could both be tiny, look at the gigantic legs in the left of the photo, (hehe).

Just goes to show you that the saying of "BIG FEET=BIG..........SHOES"
doesn't always hold water. Sometimes small guys need big "shoes". |
RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
That look small for a Wisconsin deer judging by the battle gear. I'd shoot him and have him aged[:-]
|
RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
Why would you kill him now just to know his age? I'd say let him go and wait a few years. He's showing great potential for antler size at a young age. He could be the next record (an opinion).

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
Nice looking little buck. I'd give him a couple years.

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
He's definitely smaller, but I doubt it's as much as the picture leads you to believe. Look at the ground...theres a significant slope...probably at least 1 foot difference from the front legs of the bigger buck to where the smaller buck is standing. If the ground was totally flat you'd probably get a better idea of his size. Either way, he's definitely got some potential....and hey, if you choose to take him, at least it will be an easy drag;):D

RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
If the next guy in your hunting area isnt going to shoot him i would let him grow a few years he looks like he could be a giant someday.
Good luck |
RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
Is it just me, or does the bigger deer have a small head?
His body looks clear, but his head is blurry. Could that be because of movement? |
RE: Tiny Bodied Buck
I agree with Livbucks he is a young deer with a heck of alot of future potential.
