Rack identifacation?
Hey fellas, this is my first post on deer hunting. I ve noticed that people form most other states besides my native oregon identify thier antlers by adding them all up for example a 4x4 is called an 8 point, but around here if its 4x4 we just say four point or 4x4 and dont add em up. how is it where your from??????

RE: Rack identifacation?
We had this discussion on the board last year. If I remember correctly, the consensus was that in the West they are refered to as 4X4, 3X3, etc... From Texas on east they are refered to by the total number of points.

Hey j3k2c21 ...
Here in the east we can "add" the 2 sides of a rack together to come up with a total, in the west adding scary high numbers like 3 + 3 or 4 + 4 and heaven forbid something crazy big like 5 + 5 .. is obviously to daunting a task.
JK!!!!
In the west, we are the only "intelligent" ones! At least in identifying a rack. We call them four-points also.
