i might try at 100 yards, but that would be without a scope, with a scope, mabe up to 130 yrds with a shotgun, get my scope tuned in very well of course.

ohio is shot gun so the farthest i will shoot is around 100 to 125yrds with open sites if they are feeding and standing still. i shot a doe last season at @ 85 yrds. looking at me. hit here right where i aimed in the chest head on and split her heart. bow hunting i use a horton legend sl i will take a 50 yrd shot no problem maybe a little more depending on wind and weather conditions i didnt take a 55 yrd shot at a monster and kick myself in the ass for not but i was afraid to wound him or bad hit and not find him. but hey he is still around we found his sheds and seen a monster in velvet that is probably him. . i know my equipment and practice that is the trick. know your weapon and pratice. dont take a shot if you are not sure let them walk until you are.

Longest shot was last season between 210-230 yards. Dropped an 8pt in its tracks. I would shoot up to 250 yards.
Shortest shot was about 4 yards from a ground blind. Nice 6pt. Bugger ran 20 yards before realizing he was missing his heart!
Ground blind = 2 small pine trees and a lawn chair.
Both with my 7mm.

longest shot ive ever had to make was 100yds on a deer and same distance on a hog but im comfortable out to 200yds. im sure i could shoot farther but ive never seen anywhere here to need to shoot that far and ive never tried shooting that far

My longest shots are 75 yards with blackpowder, and 32 yards with a bow. Most of my rifle kills were under 40 yards before I went bp and bow only.
