I am planning on building an enclosed wooden deer stand for next year and am wondering if anyone has any plans that they would like to share? Also if you have any tips on what to use or what to watch out for they would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

hey rick i rebuild my tree stand about every 3 years and what i do is look for three or four trees that are close together and go from there... i get a big ladder climb up one of the trees and connect all the trees together with a couple boards then i put the floor in. then as for the "boxed in" part i get whole pallets of wood and just nail them to the sides. and for extra i put built in seats in mine lol hope this helps a little

Before you go to nailing to trees you better either own the tree or make sure it's alright to nail to the tree with the landowners permission. and if you do make sure it's a scrub tree.
i like to use landscape timbers for legs if i am building a wooden stand. 2x4's and some ply wood and use the imagination.
90% of mine are metal cause i weld as a hobby. they are the best way mainly because they can be relocated and last a lot longer.
you can buy metal stands or better yet learn to weld. i have two right now ready to go to the woods.
but if you have a hard time using your imagination there are some web sites that sell plans. do a search for deer stands and you will find them.

wife's deer stand I built on my property over a farmer’s crop field. It is 8' x 8' x 8' and stands 20’ high in the air. I built it on 4x6 treated posts 2x4 walls with 7/16 inch aspenite siding with metal siding on top of that. I used ice guard and shingles on the roof to keep from leaking. Should last for ever. It also has propane heaters. Tried to post a picture but it wouldn't upload.
