Ladder stand recommendation

Looking for a recommendation for a ladder stand or plans to build my own.

Personally I would spend $125 or so on a good metal stand. Lighter, easier to move, safer and they will last a lot longer. We have about 50 metal stands and no wooden ones.

Thanks TC. I'm leaning that way.

I really like the stands built by Strong Built, i use the portable ladder stand quite a bit, it is light weight, fairly priced and comfortable. I use it all the time, hence the name portable ladder. Good Luck

Here is what I've got on my fathers day wish list. Would rather have the deluxe model which comes with shooting rail & padded seat. The problem I have with most ladder stands is they are not tall enough. This one is 20ft.

I like the 2 man Buddy stand. I use them alot for my hunters in Saskatchewan. They have plenty of room and are about 15 ft high to the seat level. They come with a shooting rest and a blind around it to conceal you. I have good luck with them and you can buy them at walmart for around $80. I have had hunters that weighed in excess of 300lbs and they hold up great give them a look.

I have the Cabelas Trophy lite magnum. Its great. Rock solid in the tree and super spacious. I mean you can really sprawl. I'm not small so space and comofort were important. My buddy also has a Cabelas 16 XT stand. Also a great stand real solid and comfy. Great price.

I have two of these I ordered last year, and love them. 16' to bottom platform, and it has a flip up seat, which is great for bow hunting. Platform is spacious. Not very expensive for what you get, and it's very sturdy. (I'm 255 #'s).
