Most Impressive Typical Whitetail Ever???
 

I narrowed down these impressive whitetails IMO, and which of these bucks are the most impressive in your opinion, I've seen the Kansas King Sheds, Jordan buck and the Hanson buck in real life. All were are amazing. So who gets your vote???

The Kansas King Sheds(217 #2 sheds)

Mel Johnson (204 4/8)

Wayne Zaft (172 5/8)

Milo Hanson (213 1/8)

The General (#1 typ sheds 222 2/8)

Ahrens Buck (212 gross I think?)

James Jordan (209 3/8)

Breen Buck (202 net)

The Saunders Buck 199 2/8 Typical

Did you leave out the Breen Buck on purpose?

The Ahrens buck was taken within 20 miles of where I hunt

I wouldn't intentially pass on any of em!!!!!! However, I think the Zaft buck looks awsome. I know he doesn't score big like the 200+ deer Hanson or Milo shot, but he sure is sweet looking.

Zaft buck is the smallest but also the best looking rack of these to me. a high sweeping 5x5 is something I just can't get over - I often go to bed at night dreaming of a wall tines just like this!!! Score who cares it is in all sense of the word a pretty rack anybody would proudly display.

The most impressive to me is The General, he has it all - mass, hieght, tines, beams and width. I look at this deer and say trophy mature buck...WOW!

All are great specimens that would make a great addition to anybody's living room. [8D]

I like the Jordan buck also.If you've never seen that rack in person,you just don't realize how big and massive it really is.The Johnson buck is right up there,too.

The Breen Buck has always been my favorite. He just looks so majestic.

Even though the Zaft buck doesn't score as high I like his headgear much more than I like the other deer.

The Zaft buck only scores 174", I always thought that he was at 200"? There were several dozen typical bucks killed this season down here that scored 170"+, biggest was in the upper 190's. Nothing prettier then a big typical south Texas buck ;)

My pick would probably be either the Zaft buck or the Kansas king. I love big typicals.

I would have to go with either the Breen Buck or the Jordan Buck. I have seen these bucks and they are absolutely amazing. The Breen Buck is amazing, and especially when you consider that the deer was only 3-1/2 years old, but the Jordan Buck has the most awsome shape and that mass is wonderful!

I have seen the Hanson buck, and it really didn't do much for me. I have shot 1-1/2 year old bucks with more mass (seriously)!

That is like going to a major university and trying to pick out the prettiest girl, impossible. I wish one of those bucks could have spent one or two breeding seasons in our hunting area.

Here are a couple fake Typical Whitetails. They're pretty cool to look at though.


This is a classic fake "world record" typical. An anonymous person in 1997 claimed the deer had been shot by his/her cousin and would net over 229 points, easily No. 1. Of course, there was no proof to back up the claim.


In 1998, Mitch Rompola claimed to have broken the world record with this super-wide typical from northern Michigan. But he never entered the rack into any record book or even proved it was real.

I would love to have any of them within range but I like the Zaft and the General. They just seem to set it off for me.

ALL of them. By the way, the Rompola buck is real. This guy has been run-down by the hunting industry because he's a do-it-yourselfer and doesn't go along with the status-quo. I've been told by acquaintences that live in that part of MI that he has no less than 10 bucks on his wall that would place high in the record books. I've seen racks hanging in barns in MO that would easily go in the 180 or better range(typical). Not everyone is interested in fame and don't need their ego's stroked by a bunch of weekend warriors. There are those out there that still hunt for the pure beauty of the experience of it, not as a contest. That being said, any of those racks would give me an awful case of buck-fever!

i would have to go with the buck that lovenstuen shot over in albia iowa. haven't seen it in person, but isn't it supposed to be one of the top (if not the top) hunter killed whitetails?

Not being partial because I live in WI, but the Jordan buck is truely awesome IMHO...I have always been a freak for MASS, and that bad boy has it!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't actually realize how big any of them are. I've never seen them in person or seen anything that even comes close to any of them in the wild, so I'd have to say I love them all. :D

Yeah the Albia Buck is big, but it's not on this list because this is a list of only Typicals.

I've seen the Milo Hanson buck up close and also met Milo in person ,that buck has to be my favourite of all the buck's on your page.

HERE'S A GREAT TYPICAL KILLED ON FORT KNOX, KENTUCKY. TROY GENTRY TOOK THIS BUCK AND IT SCORED 198 GROSS AND NETTED 186.

I've always favoured the Jordan Buck because of its mass and symmetry, however, I'd hate to be faced with the situation of having one tag, and seeing the Jordan and Hanson bucks at the same time.:(

The Breen buck has always struck me as being way too non-typical to be ranked with the top typicals.

I like the Zaft buck.....I like the height of the rack along with all the liitle points coming off of it!!
