Default 180" net 8 pt @ dixie deer classic

Anybody see the 180 inch net 8 pt @ the DDC? I just read about it in the paper yesterday. Some fella found the rack hanging in an old building and had it scored. Supposta been killed in VA some years ago. Musta been some DOOZIE of an 8 pt.

That is an absolute moster for an 8pt!!!! I love to see pics of that. He just has to have crazy mass and a ton of length to be that big!!

Don't have any pics. Just read about it in the paper. I have seen the "best gun" rack. Big, massive 14 pt. Quite a deer for this area (central NC). I thought it was a Montana/Sask. rack when I saw it.
Does DDC have a website?

Don't have pics...Just read about it in the paper. Didn't get to go this year. I did see the big 14 pt. that took the best gun category. Very massive. Quite a deer for this area (central NC).

This typical 8-pointer had a spread just under 27 inches and both main beams were about 32 inches long. Only had 2 5/8 inches of deductions, the rack will rank as the second-biggest 8-pointer ever scored, only 3/8 under the current world-record 8-pointer.

Thanks rwilson

That deer is no where near 180.

Lets look at the numbers(liberal estimates)

27 inch spread
32 inch main beams
6 inch G1
6 inch G1
12 inch G2
12 inch G2
8 inch G3
8 inch G3
30 inches of mass

165, being VERY liberal. I would say that deer is closer to 155.

ya i also have a hard time believing this deer went 180, i have a fairly large 4 pointer here which ain't much smaller than that one. This one i have may not be as wide but he has alot more mass, which adds up nice. I haven't scored him but i think he would be around the 160 mark. I will take a pic of him here on of these days and throw it up on the boards for viewing.
