Man Finds 'Male' Deer Carrying Unborn Fawn
Biologist Says Such Animals Rare, Not Unheard-Of

BENTON, N.H. -- A Benton man has a good story to tell about a roadkill deer he found the other night.
Jeremy Lamarre got permission from authorities to take the deer home.
It looked like a good-sized buck, with small antlers and male sexual organs.
But when he started to dress it, Lamarre discovered it was carrying an unborn fawn.
Animals with male and female characteristics are rare, but not unheard of, a state biologist says.
He says he's never seen a deer quite like this in New Hampshire.
