can't go wrong with the 30-06, great cal.....and for shots out to 150 don't forget about the old 30-30, still best brush gun

I have to agree with timbercruiser. I used a .270 bolt action since I was 12 and I couldn't ask for a better gun. They have minimal recoil, are extremely accurate and can be used in many different situations. Good luck and enjoy in whatever you decide.

Do you have a budget? How much can you spend or are you willing to spend? Is a scope a "must" for this gun you want to buy? Will you ever hunt game other than deer with this rifle? If so, what other game? Do you insist on a new rifle or will a used rifle do for you?
If you answer those questions it would help us to guide you better.
