Cost survey on whitetail mounts

I just got my mounts back from this years season and paid 265 each. I was curious as to what everyone is paying for a quality shoulder mount these days.

Mine was $420 with tax. My brother-in-law paid $300 for his and it appears that the taxidermist did a good job on his too. I've been told by others that 5 or 10 years will separate the good mounts from the bad ones.

412$ with tax a couple years ago. One of the best mounts that I have seen, and many other people have agreed. I think I got lucky.

$325 to $425 around here...Depending on how long you have to wait. One taxidermist has a 2 &1/2 year wait now! Unbelieveable work though.

RE: Cost survey on whitetail mounts

350-600 is the range here(Canadian funds). Mine cost me for a normal mount 425.00 tax in, if I need some extra work done(like fix a tine or something) then a touch more. Really is one thing that you need to do your homework on look at both what he/she has done in the showroom and if possible take a look at older mounts to see how they stand up...nothing worse than shelling out the cake and have the nose crack[:@]. IMO it is worth the effort and in some cases the extra $$$!

$325 which does not include the wood plaque. It
costs another $60-80 for the plaque, depending on
which model. Usually takes 9-10 months to get
my deer back, though it's been almost a year with
my '03 gobbler[:@].
