7mm kick

how much does a 7mm with 150 grain bullets kick compared to a 30 06 with 150 grain bullets

RE: 7mm kick

Slightly more recoil and muzzle blast with the 7 over the 06'. I haven't had any problems with mine in the recoil dept. and I have bad pins[:-]. If you can handle a 06' with ease the 7 rem mag shouldn't present to many problems, if possible ask to shoot one at your local range to see for yourself.

Mine is no problem at all when I'm shooting at a deer. I hated sighting it in....

A lots depends on the weight and style of the gun, but its mostly like skeeter said, usually a little more than an '06.

RE: 7mm kick

In many cases the rifles chambered for the 7mmremmag have a longer barrel and are slightly heavier than the same rifle chambered for the 30-06.In this case there is very little difference in recoil.

Check this link on recoil. Might give you an idea on what you're asking....

I actually have a light weight .308, that I feel kicks more than my 7MM RM!

RE: 7mm kick

i shoot at 7mm rem mag with 165 grains and the gun does have a bit of spunk to it but it really doesn't bother me. I don't know if its just me that experiences this but when i am target shooting i will feel the recoil but when i am shooting at a deer i think you could punch me in the shoulder and i wouldn't notice.. I get so pre-occupied with what i'm doing i really don't notice recoil at all. If you are worried about the rcoil snap a break on it and put pad on the butt plate. In all honestly if the recoil is affecting your shooting you probably should try a different caliber.

RE: 7mm kick

I have said before here that I have owned five 7MM Mags and I really wanted to like them. However including my 338 mag and 300 Weatherby and Win. Mags, the 7 Mags hit me the hardest of anything except my 416 Rem Mag. I droped down a notch to the 280 and have found nothing that it won't do just as well with a lot less pain. Its true that during hunting situations you never feel the recoil. However if I want a gun that I can take out and enjoy shooting, It won't ever again be a 7 Mag. Out to 400 yards the 280 will drop anything that the 7 Mag will. I have shot them both a lot. I am on my third 280 as well. The 270 would fit into the same slot. Drop to 350 yards and the 260, 7mm-08, 7x57 and 308 will also do the same kind of work.
