Default Assault weapon ban upheld

The ban on the sale of assault weapons due to expire in September has been extended. Also passing was a bill to require background checks at Gun Shows to be the same as if you were buying from a gun shop. What do ya think of all this ?

But New Jersey Democratic Sen. Frank Lautenberg said assault weapons are "intended to kill as many people as possible in as short a period of time" and don't belong on the street.
And the appearance of a gun directly effects its rate of fire, accuracy, and range? What a load of BS.

It passed in the House but the Senate shot it down. No worries.

I never actually looked at this before today. What a load of sh....tuff. I just love the way they describe assault weapons. I looked at both gun control and gun rights web sites. It is amazing the difference in 'facts' on these pages. One page said that something like 2 or 4 percent of cops were killed by 'assault' weapons, and another said 40%. Who knows, hopefully people will get their facts straight and one day we can all have out very own "assault" weapon.

NO It did'nt get extended, all that happened is they got added on as an amendment to the reckless lawsuits bill and when they did the senate voted it down bigtime something like 90 to 8. At first the lawsuit bill had 55 senators signed on as co-sponsors after the amendments where added the 55 turned into 8 votes. The anti-gunners are claiming a big victory in getting the lawsuit bill shot down, they are not smart enough to see that their anti-gun legislation is what killed this bill. It looks like the clinton AWB will sunset now in Sept. wonder what they will claim when it does?
