It shouldn't hurt your area, even in the short run. My area was getting timbered this season and I shot my biggest buck 20 minutes after the skidder came thru about 70 yds away. There were deer running everywhere that morning. We continued to see deer while the loggers were there. They may shift thier trails and such by 50-100 yds but they'll still be there.

goblin buck,
the landowner is not planning to plant pines, he wants to replant hardwoods for the most part. I think i have him talked into leaving a couple of the open areas to regenerate naturally(ie succesion). And i may try to put foodplots in another one or two. One nice thing is I work for him on the side so i get a little flexibility and input.
