Beef? are you out of your mind????!!!!!!!! Beef is the crap animal out there! It looks, tastes, and smells to me like fecal cat matter from 5 minutes ago! And I still hold to this even after I have had a $48 fillet mignon! It sucked compared to any wild game! Personally out of any game out there, I absolutely enjoy pronghorn doe the most. now for you who have had it and hated it, it all is in the prep as soon as you kill it. gut it and get the skin off asap and immediately quater it up and put it on ice! then it is heaven, tender, juicy, and ohhhh sooo flavorful!!!!!!!!

I really can't tell any difference between whitetail and muley. But also as has been previously stated it has a lot to do with the feed that the animal has been eating!

Hehehe. I'd have a sour taste in my mouth too if I paid that much for a steak. []

DearSlayer357,

I can't tell a difference in the taste between mule deer and whitetail. One thing I did notice between the two was the Mule deer I got in Co. had a more or less clear looking fat on it and the whitetails I've taken in Ga. over the years has a more yellow color to the fat, but I don't think that mattered.

It depends what they been feeding on, some of those mulies taste like a piece of sage but then again some have been eating alfalfa or in the grassfields/ect. and they taste great and whitetail are no different, I've had some good tasting ones and some others so-so. Depends a lot also on how its taken care of prior to it going in the frezzer.
As far as beef goes, I can't really make a comment on that cause I really cannot tell you the last time I bought a piece of beef, why would I? Never had any blacktail, but I'm open minded and wouldn't mind tring it. Bobby
