if you are going to frame the picture and hang it on your wall its a good idea to put its tongue back in its mouth, as far as cutting its tongue completely out is kinda going overboard (demented actually) but to each his own.

i've heard a lot of people say that u should put the tounge back in the mouth for better pictures and out of respect for the animal, but i personally never think about it when i'm takin pics because i'm ussually too excited about the kill to be thinkin about the toungue.

thanks for the replies. the only reason i do it is out of respect for the animal, i think they are cool critters and to me it just does not look right to have it's tongue all covered with dirt from the drag hanging out (especially in pics) . i know from talking to alot of non -hunters(NOT anitis) that a deer in the back of a truck dosnt bother them, but they seem to be really turned off by the tongue thing.
I think it ranks right up there with the genius who thought that a deer head mount with an arrow sticking in it was the hieght of decor...TACKY.
t roy, i might be a little twisted, but demented? man , you hurt my feelins....

I just put the tongue in the mouth and then snap away.
but i could see how someone would like to cover all of the blood up, personally I like my pics to have some blood in them....but that is just me...
