ditto to texas hunter. i like remington better than browning. my grandpa has a browning semi-auto and has sent it back 3 times and it still shoots 6in low and 6in to the left. jmo though

IMHO both rifles will often outshoot the guy behind the trigger, it really comes down to fits and features you like. I own both and they have been excellent, but my choice right now is a Rem 700.

While i don't have just ONE gun i prefer remington 700's. old ones will be around longer than i will. i just bought my first ruger m77 old tang style safety and like the gun.
i have always thought brownings were bulky but thats my opinion.
which ever feels right to you is the one.
but if was going remington 700 i would find a used and customize it to me. older one of course . i don't need a bolt lock on my gun! ( klintoon key)
but 700's make great bases for a custom gun.
