RE: Preferred Method...
Ground blind with a 12 gauge shotgun. I tried hunting from a treestand and I liked it alot.....until I fell out of it and shattered my foot. I'd like to try it again, but my family and hunting party won't let me get back up there.

RE: Preferred Method...
I have had no choice as to the tpe of hunting that I've been able to do in the past. All I could do is hunt from the ground via a ground blind. I was to oheavy for a tree stand and was unable to walk a lot so stalking was out.
My good news is that I've lost 142 pounds so far and expect to loose another 85 pounds or so. I recently bought two tree stand to use next season just because I will be able to use them. Man it feels good to say that!!! I believe that I will enjoy the tree stand hunting much better than hunting from the ground. I know that I will like the field of view much better than from the ground.

First off KYhuntsman you should feel proud of what you have accomplished. Way to go. I hunt almost 100 percent from ambush points along deer routes to feed areas. Sometimes from tree stands but more often from ground blinds. I am a bit old to spot and stalk as I would never be able to lug out the meat. I used to enjoy that method though. Time flies. Enjoy the rigors of hunting while you can.

For all biggame except black bears I hunt on the ground. As to method I like it all from spot n stalk, still hunting, sitting and so on. However my favorite method is to call be it grunting moose, bugling elk or rattling whitetails it is just a rush to get a response from any of these animals.
