Funnels can take on alot of different forms. A funnel can be a subtle as a low spot in a fence. The deer will be drawn to the low spot because it is easier to cross there. It can be a wooded patch between a couple of houses that leads to bigger woods.

I hunt two funnels like those two above and almost always see deer.

Man talk about funnels there are probably a 100 of them on that map. Looks like a great place to hunt. Lots of back wash oxbow swamps back in there for them to hide in. Nice place!


This pic was taken in the spring of 1994 so all the ponds you see were full of water. This year when we hunted it we drove it from the top of the pic to the bottom "funnel" where we had 2 standers waiting.Over 70 deer went past the 2 guys:D but only 1 fork buck was in with them [:@]. The big bucks gave the drivers the slip[:@]. Last year we killed 2 8 pointers on that drive:) and the year before we killed 2 on that drive.One of the 2 was HUGE.
