A buck that dressed at 175. It was an 8 point that had a 21 3/4 inch inside spread and from the top of his head to the tallest tines averaged 19 1/2 inches.

10 years ago I was hunting over a draw through a vast clearcut. There was a small creek running in the bottom that had alot of honeysuckle & briar that were being absolutely destroyed by deer. I had found a few better-than- average rubs & set my stand up for an evening hunt. Right after the sun set & the colors of the day started fading to grey I saw 2 deer feeding up the draw. They were 2 doe & I was hoping big boy would be tailing them. About 5 minutes after these 2 came through a big bodied deer came running in - nose to the ground! But it was too dark for me to make out his rack. Remember, I was younger & was hunting in Central Alabama where no tag was required. Needless to say, I ground-checked him for meat & the hopes for a nice rack. It turned out to be a liveweight 185#doe... no lie. By far the biggest doe I've ever shot down here.

Around here, southeastrn Va. The deer do not get that big and it has been a very long time since I have eard of a deer above 200. In 86 I killed a deer 171 and 2 years ago I killed an 8 point 168, both live weight.
