Looking for some good one line come backs for the anti hunters that I know. They ask me all the time why I hunt? I have always stuck with the thought that if you never tried it don't knock it. Then I invite them to go hunting with me, and if they still feel the same way afterwards then they had every riight to speak there mind on the subject. Any of you guys have a good, short, sweet, and to the point reply to this question? And please don't give me the old "If I don't kill them they will starve to death. These are intelligent people not morons

my answer is because i can and i love to do it.....not a great comeback or anything but its the truth........never bite more then you can swallow.....leave the antis be...no need to stir that pot.....let it simmer

A very simple and straight-forward retort would be: "Because I love american traditions."

But if the anti is religious, he/she can relate. Always choose your words to fit your audience. I'm not a religous person, but on Christmas, all my all my family and I talked about was God and the history or the Bible. To me it's hypothetical, but to them it's what they believe in.

If they are meat eaters, I would say "The only difference between you and I is that I do my own killing of the meat I eat" and if they are non meat eaters I would say "There is no higher authority than god, it is an american tradition, and done so according to the laws of our land"...
