Results from first use of deer decoy

I ended up buying a 3-D bow target for my decoy. It was $40 dollars cheaper but it is heavy. Oh well I need the work out.
Anyway I put the decoy in a food plot and had a small 6 point come out. When he saw the decoy he came straight to it. He would not get any closer than about 30 yards. The rack on the decoy was bigger and I guess this had him alittle scared. Going again this afternoon cant wait.

I'm thinking about buying a decoy to have next season, keep us posted on how it works out for you

Can you not remove the antlers? Or are you loking to have a monster buck rush it and thrash it?
I am interested to hear your stories.
:D

There is a huge buck in the area I am hunting. I hope if he sees another buck by his scrape line he will come in.
Hunted yesterday afternoon with no luck though. Going to put my friend on the stand tomorrow with the decoy. Maybe he will have better luck.
When I get the money I am going to buy another decoy. I figure having a buck and a doe together in a food plot during the rut might get some attention.
What you think?

Are you using any scents or just sitting up your decoys?

Myself, I would use the doe and buck and add a nice scent trail. Probably keep the doe away from the buck though. The deer may notice that it's fake of their too close together.

If a buck comes in the field use calls to get it closer, it worx for me.

Still no big buck yet. Since using the decoy all the doe's seem relaxed when they come into the food plot. What's funny is they keep trying to find what the decoy is looking at.

Then make sure that it is not facing you or your hunting will be over.
