Typical Nontypical....
This is a silly question but what is the difference between typical and nontypical deer. Thanks
|
RE: Typical Nontypical....
Well to keep it simple a typical deer would be a deer with a symetrical rack ex. 6pt 8pt.....
And a non-typical would be a non-symetrical rack with beams sticking out everywhere. |
RE: Typical Nontypical....
OK I thought that was what it was.

RE: Typical Nontypical....
Actually symetry has nothing to do with Typical vs. Nontypical, but rather to do with Gross vs. Net Score (deduction of side a and b). Also beams are referred to as just the main beam and a more than 2 antlers(beam) animal is consider a freak of nature with really no classification, so I assume you mean tines Duckhunter(G1, G2, G3, G4).
NT-Is simply abnormal antler growth! Such as: tines coming out or down of the main beam, points branching of a G position tine(Kickers, stickers, split brows, etc) and so on. Typical - is normal antler growth tines (G's) off of mainbeam and straight up. An animal with kickers can still be considered Typical they would just count as a deduction to the final net score. Check out: www.pope-young.org & www.boone-crockett.org for score sheets and more info on the two classes. |
RE: Typical Nontypical....
skeeter, the guy didn't know wat typical and non- typical meant, i was trying to keep it simple but your just makin in it a little more complicated.

RE: Typical Nontypical....
Duckhuntin, I am sorry you feel snubbed but your reply was incorrect. I really fail to see how mine would be more complicated, I just gave him examples and some basics to help him figure out the difference. You'll also notice I provided a link to P&Y and B&C website so he can look up additional info, picture is worth a 1000 words.

RE: Typical Nontypical....
Zak123, Skeeter did a fine job explaining the difference in his first posting. It probably couldn't be explained much simpler or straight to the point. S
