Motorized Bikes???
 

An associate of mine is building a motorized bicycle. What he has put together is not junk. It's quality.

What do you think of a bike that will carry you, your stand, and equipt and pull a deer at the same time for $1600 to $1800?

We know how expensive 4wheelers are. Do you think there is a market for a low cost alternative?

I am not selling them yet, just trying to get a feel for the market before deciding.

He has a couple of them built and I will see if I can get a picture to post.

what ever happend to just walking? where i hunt i wouldnt use one but thats my opinion. if you walk for a half hour here the chances are you crossed a couple highways. i duno maybe some people wouldnt mind using them. anyways good luck with your plans

I have to agree with Crow Slayer, I just walk in. I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea, but I really hate to break this to you. You aren't really going to get that much business, if any. Most people will want something that has a good tradition of quality like atv's. They will want something that they can order parts for and install themselves. I hope it works out for you though.

I agree about the walking in.

The drag out though is something else though and this is what spurred my interest when I saw the bikes he has made. It takes me a long time to drag a deer a mile but this thing will do it in short order and without stopping to rest.

Seriously though my grandpa had one that we used when we went camping. Got over 100 mile to the gallon. It had a rack over the back tire to carry a tent/sleeping bag or whatever you wanted. It had pedals for when you wanted to go to stealth mode. We used it to get from our camp to our huckleberry picking spot. I don't think his would've dragged a deer though, it was only 70cc or something like that.

I REMEMBER SEVERAL YEARS AGO A GUY WAS SELLING MOTORZYCLE THAT WERE ALL WHEEL DRIVE BOTH TIRES WERE DRIVEN MY THE ENGINE. LOOKED KINDA COOL, BUT I WOULD MUCH RATHER WALK AND ENJOY MY HUNT AND NOT TAKE THE EASY WAY TO AND FROM MY HUNTING AREA

i have a friend who uses a motorized scooter to track deer and to get from stand to stand when he took them down.

Seems to me like its already been done, I own an XR200 (Honda 4-stroke) dirt bike. Its quite, takes straight gas, and has the bottom end power to drag, whats the advantage of your friends &quot;invention&quot; over my tried and tested dirt bike???
That being said I too prefer to walk and only use the bike occasionaly when the alarm doesn't go off and I sleep in.

Sounds like a honda trailbike or something ,We tried deer hunting with one but it was to rough for it to be any good .

probally work for those who hunt long distance Mine isnt to far I drive my truck up a dirt road and walk in only about a quarter mile walk in to our spot try to get some pictures might help disabled might be able to use or older person <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
