Wolfs
Gentleman,
For some time now i have been trying to get as much info on a WOLF hunt that i can find .Question , does anybody know of a reputable outfitter or has any body actually been on one of these hunts?I am up for almost anything, trap line hunt, stalk. Do they bait for them? Is most hunting by foot, snowmobile, or what? This forum has a lot of knowlegable people out there that i hope can really help. Thank You |

RE: Wolfs
So why do you want to hunt wolf??Is the meat really that good??Or do you just want a trophy hide??

RE: Wolfs
If you want a wolf hunt just about any oufitter in alaska or NWT will glady add wolf to another tag. Typically you can't just go for wolf.
P.S.- Jimbo Hunter1 you can hunt wolf in alaska and there are many people trying to institute it in wyoming, idaho, and montana. |
RE: Wolfs
You may want to pose this question over on the Big Game forum, most of those folks use outfitters.

RE: Wolfs
No.....wolf meat isn't usually eaten....but neither is Grizzly or Brown Bear. And contrary to what alot of "activists" will tell you...they are not endangered or threatened either. Hunting predators helps to insure they maintain a "fear of man"....which is good for both speices in the long run. Alaska has a surplus of wolves, and they are in huntable numbers.
One of my favorite bumper stickers in Alaska reads: Eat Caribou.....20,000 wolves can't be wrong! Don't let someone try to lay a "guilt trip" on you.....because they are not normally considered edible! Dave P.S. An internet search should turn up something. Otherwise I suggest contacting a reputable business such as Cabelas and see what information they might could provide. Good luck! |
