Better tastin than those bucks anyway...
IF it flies, it dies...or if it runs...swims...jumps...oh heck if it tastes good best shoot it and eat it...don't eat them liberals though (tough and stringy taste a little Gorey)... |

Congrats trophy, some fine eating there, I have been eating a fairly steady diet of venison jerky myself, if I can get some beef fat I will be doing a venison meat loaf tonight.

RE: 2 More
There are two things wrong here. First of all I can't believe you guys shoot deer in the neck. Secondly I can't believe that you don't know that it is Kwanza
with a K not with a Q. Get it together guys. |
RE: 2 More
Didn't know that you could get payed for killing a buck but I would have to get a lot just to break even. I'm in two clubs in ogelthorpe count and haven't even been down to them yet been hunting a big buck in forsyth co. but might have had bad luck my buddy called this morning to tell me that someone rattled his windows with a rifle shot about 2:00am by the time he got dressed he said there was law all up and down the road. We're going to look around this afternoon to see if we can find any sign of a kill. congrats anyway going to shoot acouple does for the freezer myself this weekend

RE: 2 More
good shooting!!! how high probability is the neck shot?? no1 i know (in person) does it.
|
RE: 2 More
KoBear, if you can hit a 1" circle at the range 10 out of 10 times, then go ahead and take the neck shot if you want with a solid rest, close range and absolutely still neck. If not then just stick with the vitals;)
Trophy enjoy the meat |
RE: 2 More
Hey j3k2c1 thats my saying. "If it flies, it dies!!

|
RE: 2 More
trophyhuntr can you send me some recipes of those. I would love to try something new for a change.
|
RE: 2 More
trophyhuntr Idon't think they did we looked pretty good in the fields and found no sign of a hit but did find quite a lot of fresh buck sign and the farmer next door saw a big 9-point with swelled neck chasing does monday must be a heavy second rut, so we aren't giving up yet. There has been a lot of real good bucks killed in forsyth county in the last 3 weeks plus one monster I heard of from Dawson forest
|
RE: 2 More
I'll also admit it, filled my out of state PA doe tag with a head shot at 35yds with my trusty Rem. 03a3 with open sights(the only way to shoot). Nothin' better than saving all the meat. I guess AKA eastwood just can't shoot that well!
|
RE: 2 More
congrats on your two doe!!:)
|
RE: 2 More
Unless you plan to mount a doe, a neck or head shot would be the best way to save the meat. Congrats Trophy. It would be nice to see a few does around here. I haven't seen any while in the woods hunting this year.
