I hope I am not overstepping my bounds by answering this but here goes. A thread can and in some cases should be locked when it turns into an issue where posters are either simply insulting/attacking someone or it proves to be nonproductive to hunting or the board.

The mods lock threads they believe do not have something to do with that particular forum, or the thread gets out of hand, or someone is being insulted and attacked.

This thread will be locked because it has nothing to do with deer hunting.

Nobody was overstepping their bounds and their comments were right on the money. However, I would suggest direct emails to mods/admin. if an issue such as this would come up again.
