Hickory Ridge outfitters is a bowhunting only outfitter.A six day hunt is 1,500.00. A nebraska tag is about 180.00, available over the counter.
This includes 3 homestyle meals a day, modern cabin and some darned good deer huntin!;)

I was talking with my brother-in-law over the weekend and he said that a guy out in the middle of Nebraska harvested a buck that scores 228 5/8 with a muzzleloader this year. I haven't seen anything printed on it yet, but will continue to look to see if I can find it. I'll try to post it if I can.

I think another reason that iowa is known for its big bucks is because of when there gun season is. There gun season is well after the main rut in December. Here in Mn our gun seasons are right smack dab in the middle of the peak of the rut 2nd week of November. I only live 20 miles from the iowa border in s.e Mn. and you can tell a major difference in the age structure in their deer.

Interesting Information! I was surprised of the number of entries
from the state of Maine. You dont hear much from them guys up there.:D

Thanks for posting it.;)
We have a good number of trophy bucks here in Maine. The chart is not an accurate picture though because many (most) locals don't bother to enter their deer, or even score them at all. Body weight is the traditional measure of a big buck, and it is still that way today although now there is growing interest in scoring big racks. Big woods and low deer density makes for some big bucks......the trick is finding them!
