nice buck. i personally wouldnt get a deer fixed unless i dropped him or whatever myself. but then again some people wont hunt over bait or shoot a deer on a drive. and some people voted for George Bush, go figure. abosolutely gorgeous buck. i love to see an older whitetail. and i love the look of a mature texas buck. congrats!!!

looks like he has been fighting
Yeah, I was trying to hold out for the BIG boy that kicked his butt, but my hunt was nearing an end. I'll definately be going back to that ranch next year.

If you mean geographic location it was a ranch outside of Hebbronville, a small South Texas town. If you mean location on the deer it was behind his right shoulder. The entrance wound was tiny with no blowback; the exit wound was pretty large (I shoot a 7 mag). If you look on the left side of the top picture immediately behind the deer you can see the blood pool where he fell. He dropped dead immediately without even taking a step.

KoBear,
I know what you mean, I thought about leaving him as is, but I took him in last night and told the taxidermist to go ahead and fix the tines. I have killed two deer larger than him, but he is the first one I will have had mounted and I wanted a full rack on my first mount.
