RE: do you take too much equipment in the woods???
Some day's I feel like I'm a total pack rat. But when I gun hunt I stay out all day and I'm a long way from the truck through two swamps. I have to change all of my clothes, which I back pack in a dry bag a day or two before the season starts along with my Double Bull T2 blind, chair, heater and rifle. So on day's I hunt I just take food, water, etc in my usual day pack, which of course has all the other junk you would usually take with you in the woods.
Bow hunting is usually not so labor intensive as I hunt a little closer to the road and usually can wear just about all of my clothes out to the stand or strap them on my day pack. But I always have food and extra clothes in my truck which I can walk back to rather easily. It always seems like I have to much with me but I don't mind the extra weight or work needed to carry it. |

No.
I hunt my own land. My gun, 8 extra rounds, clothes to fit the temp. My pockets may have; pocket knife, small stone, billfold, small snack in a ziplock bag, sometimes my binoculars. I'm always within a mile from the house so there is no reason to handicap myself with extra weight. Russ |

I feel ya. I have quite a bit I cary also. I would loose the pop. All that will do is dehidrate you. I would also swap the cell phone for a two way radio. Where I hunt the cell phone just doesn't get a signal.
Water Purifier, Bug Spray Water Proof Matches, Tarp Emergency Blanket, Plastic Bag Whistle, Snake Bite kit Toilet Paper, GPS Wool Socks, Two way radio Mirror, Dental Floss Scent Killer, Latex Gloves Ducted Tape, Flares Tow Strap, buck knife, gerber multi tool some saws and bear repelant I guess Its better to be too prepaired than dead. |

I think you guys do carry too much. All I carry is the clothes I got on, a razor sharp knife and one spare full 10 shot clip for my 61 yr. old .303 Brit.. In short a lean mean huntin machine.
