How should I set up on a scrape?

There are some big scrapes right behind my house and a guy even killed a thirteen pointer on them 2weeks ago. What is the best way to set up on one? I have always put tinks#69 on it and sat about 100 yds back from the scrape in a treestand. Is this the best way? I am using a .270.[&:]

RE: How should I set up on a scrape?

If you're after a bruiser, sitting on a scrape usually aint the way to go. He'll check them at night about 95% of the time. Find where the scrape line begins and ends. You can tell by the kicked up leaves which way he was going. Assume he freshened them at night and you roughly know his travel routes. Set up somewhere thick with a high concentration of scrapes if you want to hunt the scrapes. Be careful not to push him.
