Deer Hunting or Politicking

RE: Deer Hunting or Politicking
I agree with Trophyhuntr and Taz whole heartedly!
I support ALL legal methods of hunting! I also don't mind a good debate, IF the name calling and cut-downs are left out!
As Taz said there are also different level of hunters too! For whatever reason, (time constraints, physical limitations, even money issues) some people choose "package hunts" that can range from high dollar, high fence hunting, to cheaper "day hunts."
For me, I prefer to be in the woods, scout my own areas, build my own stands. I'll take my average sized deer over the package hunts anytime! But, thats just me!
If the package hunt is not some small "pen, it is OK by me!
Some high fenced ranches cover 75 square mile or more and hunts cost thousands of dollars! The "culls" off these ranches are better bucks than I will ever see, but again, if its legal and its what you want, I'm all for you!
On the other side, is some of the cheaper "day hunts! For someone who doesn't have the time or even maybe the health to do their own "work" these hunts are a great way to get them and their kids exposed to hunting!
I'll throw this in for those that consider themselves "true trophy hunters!" Great! I'm all for you guys too! Just don't put down those who are "meat hunters" or who are not fortunate enough to hunt areas where true trophies roam! Remember, hunting is mainly geared to population control and conservation! You could not accomplish either of these goals with strictly "trophy hunting!"
In closing, Anti-101 may or may not have been a real anti! However, there really are thousands, if not millions of REAL anti's that would love nothing better than to do away with ALL hunting and ALL firearm ownership! So lets support LEGAL hunting and in disagreement, at least keep it civil!

If its legal, get-r-done. For those that say baiting, dogging, driving is un-ethical I could say to them that hunting with a gun, a bow or any other weapon is un-ethical and why not go after their quarry with their bare hands, then it would be fair chase. When they fly off the handle at someone who uses bait, dogs or driving where they are legal is doing nothing but stating their opinion and thinking there way is the only way and anyone that does it different is an inferior hunter. IMO its an ego thing and they are better than the one doing whats legal, when actually they might be the inferior one.

remember that when the anti's see us debating and arguing they will pick a subject like baiting or hunting with dogs then divide us and use legislation to end that type of hunting if you dont help protect their way of hunting they may not be there to help you when the anti's come after your way

i'm sorry but i have to voice my oppinion about the anti-hunter comments that i've been seeing posted on this board. it seems that everytime a topic is brought up, someone has to jump in and say "look he said something that the antis can use against us". who cares?? that's what they want you to do. it's like terrorism, if you feel threatened....they win! i feel that there are a lot more hunters out there than there are anti-hunters. i'll continue to hunt regaurdless!!

We all have out own views and the debating can be fun! Sometimes, it seems, some things do get a little personal. Well, to us, hunting is personal. There are those who have been passed down ideas from generation to generation and they will probably pass along the information to their kids/grandkids. The debating sometimes brings about ideas which some of us may/may not be aware of. It's all an eduational process anyway. I don't think that there is a single hunter out there that is a true guru of certain kinds of hunts. They may have good ideas about how to do, what to use, but nobody will ever truly know all that there is to kow about hunting. It's all trial and error. Unfortunately for some us, it's more error than anything. For some of us that have been hunting for years, we have a lot of knowledge about the hunting in our own back yards, but may not know squat about how to hunt in another area/state. I welcome any ideas from anyone with ideas on another areas hunting that I may consider going to hunt some day. Keep it all going!
