Planting Food Plots - min. acreage to be effective?

I can plow and plant approx. 1-2 acres, thinking about BioLogic (heck, it works for Drury Bros!:D). You think this is too small of a piece of land to do any good? The lay of the land around it: this 1-2 acres is fairly secluded by trees, but is surrounded by woods and fields. Thanks.

One to two acres should be plenty unless your herd is extremely overpopulated. Of course, more is always better isn't it?

You know, I've noticed that the Drury Brothers occasionally use really small plots on the edges of grain or bean fields. I know the fields themselves draw in the deer, but those tiny Bio-Logic plots sometimes do draw deer in right under their stands.

Yeah they don't need to be very large at all, I would rather have 2-1 acre plots separated by a few hundred yards than 1-2 acre plot, Deer are browsers, they like to hit one and then mosey on thru the woods to another. I have one plot probably not over a half acre and it gets plenty of attention.

On our 250 acres we have seven food plots, all but one are less than one acre. Each one has different plantings in them including ladino clover, wheat, Imperial Whitetail Secret Spot, Imperial Whitetail clover, Biologic Full Draw, and Biologic Green Patch Plus. Most of the plots are about one half to three quarters of an acre, and one big 3 acre plot of wheat and ladino clover. This year is the first for my Biologic, but now that its cold, the deer are hitting it harder than any of the others. I dont know if its because its new to them or they just like it a lot. Best advise is to follow the directions to a tee as far as lime and fertilizer goes or it wont grow as well.
