Hunted on the ground for year's here in South Jersey until the last few year's,I took to the trees.
See more deer up in the tree's than I ever did on the ground. The deer drivers don't like to see me when they drive thru my area, but that's thier problem.

I have a chair that stays in the woods all year round... no one has taken it after being there for 4 years so its good. I have sticks & leaves in front of me & old fallen down logs around me.... nothing behind me. 100% all natural ground blind...well other than taking & moving the logs.

I just killed my first "official buck" off of the ground. Had cammo home made blind around me sitting against the base of the tree. The buck walked within 15 feet of me before he noticed me. I like the ground because it's some much easier to adjust your position according to the wind, time of day, ect.....without having to move a stand. I stay out of the holes, and try to stay on ridges right off of deer trails. I love ground hunting, especially since I hunt in thick hardwoods.

i have been killing deer on this pipeline for many years using a folding chair and forked stick for a gunrest.i placed this outhouse groundblind on it and it is my home away from home.i took a mature doe at 12.05 pm today in the rain.i only wish i had done this years ago.i have watched deer and turkeys prior to the season and it is amazing how enjoyable it is with a swivel boat seat and propane heater when it is cold, windy or raining like today.

I like to pick up some straw bales or bales of hay to fashon a ground blind. The deer are used to seeind them. The fake big bales might work I haven't tries one of those.

I've considered getting a tree stand , still am , but I like the ground best . Still hunting or pop-up ground blind keep me in the game , not tied to one place . The blind has the added bonus of hiding both my smell and movement .

I have done both succesfully, I prefer the ground myself because you can rapidly change spots if the wind shifts and the additional thrill of being eye level with the deer. One of my daughters and I were leaning up against a huge tree and had a doe within 20 feet of us feeding for several minutes before she just meandered away.

I do both, tree stand and ground hunt. I have one tree stand not far from a big old apple tree that I get a deer from every year, plus it is along a swamp which the deer love to hide in near a run way. I also have a popup blind that I use when I'm going into another area I hunt and if it is going to be very cold, I bring my Mr Heater Jr, and stay alot longer than without it. I also have a portable blind material I use, plus I have the bucket with the camo and swivel seat that I use and place near a tree.

Even though I used to be a tree surgeon, I mostly hunt the ground because it is public land, and is more convenient to move to a different spot.
Have gotten all 4 deer from the ground, including 2 still-hunting.

I use both.
I have a tree stand that i use for archery since i hunt several different areas across the state.
For rifle season i am in the same ground blind i have used for the last 15 years. it has been rebuilt a few times since it is constructed of logs, limbs and leaves and they tend to rot away over time.
This year I had my tree stand hooked to a tree about 10 yards behind my blind but due to the high winds i stayed on the ground.
