had my deer dogs out yesterday,trailling a deer.one dog went into the pond trailing while the rest was in the pines. the one in the pond jumped and started to run,around and around in the pond.then he started to bay.
I went into the thicketest pond I have ever been in,biars and wait-a-minture' s.when I got to him,this BIG Boar hog came for me and the rest of my dogs.I was in water up to my pockets ; needless to say I could not run in that much water.I shot him in the face at 3' with my sawed off.he had been shot or cut by another hog,(very poor and had a large wound in his side.)he weighted about 135 to 140lbs. and was poor at that.if he was fat he would have gone 225 to 250 lbs. easy.he had teeth abouth 3" to 4" sticking out.looked a lot bigger coming at me,that close.

I had a very exciting morning.luckly he didn' t cut my dog any. the beagle was onlt about 25 lbs.against a 135lb boar hog,these little dogs are really something to see running there hearts out.

wow three feet ,you were lucky! glad we dont have to worry about them up north

It doesn' t get anymore exciting than that. Anytime you get dogs and hogs together you are guaranteed to get your heart rate up. I went on my first hut with dogs just up the road from you in Salem last year. I have another one scheduled for early next year. MAN THAT STUFF' S ADDICTIVE!!
