What' s the weirdest thing you have ever seen while hunting in the woods?
Greetings all,
Still looking for fillers for my book project, my strange story happened when I was deer hunting in Wisconsin, I had a buck run past my tree stand, I shot the nice 8 pointer, as I approached the deer something looked odd about the deer, as I got closer to the deer, I soon relaized that the deer I shot had been a dwarf, the legs were no longer then 16 inches long from hoof to shoulder, that was something odd that happened to me, let me know some of your stories, thanks for your help, I appreciate your input.

The weirdest thing that I can think of happened last year while bow hunting deer.
I was sitting on the ground because someone had stolen my tree stand [:@]when I saw 2 does heading my way.I sat and waited for one of them to get close.The biggest one got to 25 yards and I shot her.She turned and ran down the hill.I saw her go down and so I sat there and was waiting for the recommended 30 minutes.It was about 10 minutes later when I saw something out the corner of my left eye.It was a red fox.It wasn' t more than 30 yards.It was running across in front of me and then it just stopped dead in it' s tracks and turned and ran down the hill towards the deer.I watched and could see it was doing circles around something.MY DEER.I stood up and saw it shaking it' s head and hair was flying everywhere.I took off running at it to spook it away and the dumb thing ran at me.It got to about 15 yards and realized what I was and bolted.It didn' do any damage to the deer thinkfully.Never saw anything like that before.

I watched 12 wild turkeys walk past my stand at about 100 yards or so. One of them was all white, an albino turkey?
Never heard of an albino or an all white turkey.
I got my first deer when I was 10 years old. My father had me using a 30-06 and I can remember I could barely hold up the gun. We had been walking through the woods looking for a place to sit down against a tree for some deer hunting, when three doe walked up to us. I struggled to hold the gun up (this was on a youth hunt, btw), took aim, and shot. We found a blood trail and started following. After about 20 yards or so we found a pile of entrails, then another 20 or 30 yards another pile. We eventually found the deer laying down, still very much alive. I shot once more and killed it. When we rolled the deer over, my first initial shot had went through the upper part of the left front leg, breaking the bone. The bullet skimmed across the under-belly opening the chest cavity - which is why we had found all the entrails on our blood trail. The bullet exited through the upper part of the back leg and broke the bone. The way we figured it, the bullet had entered and exited the deer three times - and pre-gutted the deer, for the most part, before we found it.
The deer had been slightly quartering toward me and was coming down a hill toward us. We were at the bottom and I was shooting upward slightly.
Those are about the strangest things, if you can call it that, that' s happened to me while deer hunting.

One night as I was walking out of the woods after an uneventful bow hunt, I came across a girl sleeping in a sleeping bag. She thought I was going to shoot her until I rold her that it was bow season. I did not shoot her and went to my truck and called it a night. End of story

Thunderdogg, it was not an albino turkey. They are called like white faced turkey or something. My friends dad shot one and the taxidermist has a bird specialist who explained what it was. They are very rare.

to me, if a turkey is all white, its albino, whether it is technically albino, or just white, its still albino [8D]
do squirrels doing the nasty count? because i cant think of anything weird that i have seen; thats all that comes to mind.

During the 2002 gun season as I was sitting in my stand eating a sandwhich and I had a chickadee land on my leg. It slowly crept up then jumped to my arm and work its way down to my hand where the sandwhich was. It took a few pecks at the sandwhich and took off. I thought that was pretty brave for the little bird.

During the 2002 deer season in central texas, I harvested a big doe. about 10 minutes after I had shot and killed the doe, a 4 point came into view and on it' s way to my feeder walked past the doe. The buck kept walking around the doe and stomping his paws, I guess trying get the doe to move. The buck kept running off and returning to the doe and then finally I noticed the buck trying to mount the doe as she layed on the groung. I have never seen anything like this before especially with the buck trying to mate with the doe as she layed dead.
