Where to get deer and pigs

So if I wanted to leave my fair state of NY and hunt somewhere where I could get deer and pigs, where would I go? Over the years I' ve been on the forum, it sounds like some places are just overrun with them (pigs) and they are shot and discarded like red squirrels. Seems like a waste of pork to me.

texas, tennessee, parts of georgia and florida great states depends on size of animal you are looking for

From what I have heard and seen you should try the Texas hill country. Lots of whitetail and more pigs than we need. If pig scat were gold I could retire. I hunt 300 acres in Hill country and have lots of pig sign and have seen a few monsters this season, missed a 500/600 pound boar a week before Deer season opened while scouting the ranch. It was really to dark to shoot, raining and with the wind at my back it was shoot and pray for the best. I shot he turned, laughed and trotted off. I looked for an hour in the rain and found not a sinlge hint of blood, bone or anything else that would indicate I did anything othger than scare him off.

Some might say further south for best pigs but ,who knows. Lots of Ranches/guides for Hill country can help you with both.

We' ve got our share of pigs in Texas. Lot' s of ranches just want them shot! I' ve hunted on a friends place and they' re told to shoot everyone they see and just leave them lay if they don' t want them. Makes and easy meal for the coyotes.

Come down to Texas. We are over run with wild hogs. I see them every time I go out. I see them on the road. They are becoming a big problem. There use to be a farmer/rancher around the Abilene area who would pay people to come shoot hogs off his land. I think he wised up and started outfitting it.

I hunt in West Texas and the pigs are everywhere...This one came in opening day of Deer season....Scared off some deer feeding at the feeder so he had to go...Weighed well over 200 pounds. Last year we killed about 30 and they are still everywhere...
