just wanted to tell ya' ll about my hunt fri.....get to my stand and i hear crunch crunch crunch, pig, nice one, well it was just barely legal shooting hours and i said i' m taking it, i shot, about 10 yards away, saw his head turn like he was hit, but no blood, while i was waiting to go see him , i see a turkey, turned out to be a buck, i saw it was a small spike, nice body, but still, i decided, nope i' m not taking it, but he just stood there broadside, 13 yards away...i pulled the trigger , safety was still on, so i said nope not going to do it, then he just stood there , so i had too .....he ran about 30 yards, lung and spinal cord, a lil high on my shot, but it worked....i felt like crap after for not letting him walk, but i can only take so much torture/temptation before i give in.....and i have never gotten a buck at Toso....while i was waiting to go get my buck, my buddy shot a nice doe....he also shot a 4pt. on sun....i admit , i dragged ass sat and only hunted form 11-3....ol' FHH was there to give me crap me when i got out, lol....hunted sunday til around 1:00.....now the quota hunts are over and the totals are in , 57 bucks-57 does....how do you like them numbers....looks like that 50-50 thing is going to work out good for the continued management.......

Alright Huntnma, makes the trip worth while and now you got meat in the freezer, I myself have hunted Tosahatchee back when it first open and got a huge hog that came from the direction of " Fat City" , a ranchers property to the south, the best weekend I had was a doe and that hog and another in the same weekend with a bow, also Bull Creek and Three Lakes were real good also, enjoy your rewards, Bobby ;)

bobby , i now where fat city is, still called that to this day, at least by the old timers....tosohatchee has my heart , bullcreek did, but then i started hunting there and then i got a job there,, well my heart switched right over, lol......i heard when they first opened toso. to the public for hunting that it was incredible hunting...wish i would of been around for that....i got him off of sawmill rd. , the most northern boundry, then headed east to the marsh...long walk, but i was alone up there , other than my buddy on a couple of days....

Congrats ' Ma. I never got to hunt Toso. I was always stuck with either Relay or Tiger Bay. Time and family obligations wouldn' t let me get to Toso. No reason to feel bad about your deer. Anybody who has hunted Public land in Fl. knows there aren' t a whole lot of big bucks there. Their management program really needs a LOT of help. Maybe one day they' ll get wise and allow doe harvests in Fla. and get rid of the User Pay areas and Special Opportunity Hunts. You got a buck! You did well!! You should be proud.

I AGREE WITH YOU BLOOD, ON THE BUCK TO DOE RATIO......TOSOHATCHEE WILL ALLOW YOU A BUCK OR A DOE, WISH MORE PLACES WOULD BE LIKE THAT INSTEAD ON HANDING OUT DOE PERMITS..........THE BIOLOGIST IS REALLY WORKING HARD TO CHANGE THINGS, HE' S A GOOD MAN WITH A GOOD HEAD ON HIS SHOULDERS, HE' S EVEN TRYING TO GET ANOTHER 3 DAY GUN HUNT TOGETHER FOR NEXT YEAR , WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO , CANT WAIT :D

almost went to virginia to my bestfriend' s place in woodstock, but my truck screwed up and i need that more than i need to hunt, but when i do go up there , you' ll hear me hollaring when i get my buck...my buddy took a nice buck durng archery , he goes up there about 3 times a year....one day i' ll get up there too
