does with fawns, already rutted?
I have just been noticing some of the does in my area still have yearlings with them. I always thought they got rid of the fawns when the rut was heating up. So if I see does with yearlings with them, is it possible they have already been bred? I know the yearling could not possibly hand around while the doe is being chased by a buck. Just wondering.

RE: does with fawns, already rutted?
More than likely means they have not been bred yet...the buck will usually try and run a doe' s yearling off (if she doesn' t do it herself) to help bring her into esterous.
sounds like too many does in that area causing them to be bred late |

I always thought the doe will run the button buck off in the spring, and the doe fawns stay with the family.

Yesterday evening I happened upon a 3pt with a Doe and a yearling and this morning I witnessed two racked bucks trailing a Doe at 40 yrds, you figure. Bobby;)

Hi, Tabby is right. The doe will run the button bucks off and the female fawns will stay as part of the group. They do not affect the doe going into heat. Good Luck! Mark http://www.buckhuntersecrets.com |

that is correct, the button buck will be run off and i have seen bucks chase a doe then turn around and chase the yearling
