RE: Tips on dealing with people in your stand?
If the guy is pulling off of the road to let the hunter out, i would put up a big old spike strip up for the tires.

Contact your local game officer. Maybe they can set up a sting and film the guy.

What a drag. Me? I' d try to avoid face to face confrontation at the stand if possible. You don' t know what might happen. On the road, with others around, confront away. This is a very interesting problem and I' d appreciate it if you' d post what happened in the end. -zeke.

I wouldn' t set any traps. If someone got hurt you would be in for a big law suit. I would try to catch the individual or put a pad lock on the door, so they can' t enter it. who ever it is seem like a lazy lot so they wouldn' t stick around if
they couldn' t use the stand they wouldn' t build their own. |
RE: Tips on dealing with people in your stand?
like someone said earlier you could put out a trail cam, but be sure you can lock it up securely, because if someone is going to sit in your stand, knowing it is illegal, they just might take the camera too. i also liked the idea of tipping off a Game Warden. i bet they would be happy to get one more poacher out of the woods.

Don' t drive into your lane ,,, come home a few good hunting days/nights and stop up the road and sneek into your stand from another angle. If he' s in the stand take down the latter and call the big boys.;)...BT

RE: Tips on dealing with people in your stand?
some crazy guy set up a spot to sit on my private land last year, never confronted him because I was never there when he was, and I didnt need that area. The spot is still up from last year, but he hasn' t been back to clear any brush, etc, so I' m taking it over. If he shows up i' m kicking him out
