deer drinking out of polluted

Here in Indiana the rivers are pretty polluted from all sorts of things. I would never drink out of the river. If I did most likely I would get pretty sick. The deer drink out of the river why dont they get sick?

Read an artical several years ago in a biology magizine on the feeding habits of whitetail deer. The Whitetail deer can survive on many fauna that are poison to humans.

From what I understand, most pollutants take a lifetime to build up in your system to reach the point where they can actually cause problems. Probably something like 20 years minimum. No deer is going to live long enough to allow this stuff to get to them.
