RE: County Deer Kill Count

I would say 30-125 deer is exceptionally low. The counties I hunt in usually bag between 3000-6000 deer a year.

How's your luck been so far? Opening morning I got a beautiful 125" 9 point that dressed out at 180. He was a monster. Didn't get to get back out till thanksgiving morning and ended up taking a decent 8 point so i'm done. Kinda hate it ended so quick.

Wow, I can't believe those numbers! The vast majority of Virginia counties record over 2,000 per year; like Thunderdogg said, more than just a handful have triple that number.

The 2 counties I hunt in Pa. were 11,564(York) and 11,638(Somerset)last year. These are total harvest #'s for all seasons(archery,rifle,muzzleloader).125 seems very low for a total county kill.
