it was. I was right over his shoulder. Neat experience whispering him through it, watching the impact and his response.

Saw a very nice ten point today about 1100. Nose to the ground at a steady gait. Never came in range.

I can hunt tomorrow morning until about 11.

Taking the ground blind to a nice spot I have on public. Hoping the bucks are on their feet.

Morning temp is 33deg and should be clear.

Slow going on this end. Deer seem to be a little late in the rut.

Just sat down in my ground blind. In the woods until dark!

bucks just starting to cruise here, should be chasing in a week or so, lots of bucks meeting their demise with vehicles. The next full moon will be game on.

Had a doe come in at ten yards. She snorted 19 times, before deciding I wasn't a threat and then fed away.

I probably should have shot her on the first snort. Before she alerted the entire county.

A buck came behind her about five minutes later but he skirted around me about 75 yards away and continued following her.

In one of my ladder stands on public this AM. Someone's been using it. Oh well, that's public for you.

This is a nice spot with lots of sign but I've never taken a deer here. It's a big ditch crossing. And also a funnel that empties into a big thick patch, and a field of golden rods. Most the deer I see here are moving through the golden rods and too far away. Decent gun season stand though.

So far one raccoon, one beaver, and one opossum.

I'd see more deer if I quit posting from the stand.
