RE: bowhunting Saftey Harness
I use a lineman harness and it has never caused me a shot op. Your harness shouldn' t move or create lack of movements if it fits properly, correctly worn and of good quality. It should fit snug and like a pair of suspenders. Also if you don' t do this try it, put your harness on under your outwear, this will allow you tighten it properly and keep if from slipping or getting in the way.
Too bad about your experience, hopefully it won' t happen again and if unhappy with your current harness look at a new one(like the seat o pants)...just don' t shed it, it can save your life!

RE: bowhunting Saftey Harness
Is the shoulder one that wraps around your chest and then has loop to string through your pants??? If so the waist would he almost as good, as these types can actually clamp off your lungs and restrict breathing. On the flip side a waist one can actually have you hanging upsdie down. I would wear the full body, I assume it is like my lineman suit, it has the shoulder straps, belts around the waist and legs..right! This is an excellent type and again if fitted properly shouldn' t cause you any grief! A trick if the shoulder straps slide is to take a piece of tape and tape them to your shirt and shoulders...just an idea.
