Outfitter Suggestions Please

Hello- I am planning a trip for 4-6 guys for 2023 (possible we could have 8 guys but I doubt it). We are looking for a rifle/shotgun whitetail hunt with lodging and meals. We would like a 4-5 day hunt, NO fences and NO guide sitting with us....just would like to be dropped off and picked up from blinds. Please share with me your experiences and suggestions. No real state in mind other than we don't want a big hassle to get a tag/permit. My mind immediately goes to places like Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana. We dont need 200" deer but would like to see alot of action and the chance for 150"
Thank you for your time.

if your from MI< why not consider Ohio, tags are over the counter
do a search online for outfitters in OH and start making contacts , asking questions and find what your looking for

some of your other states, drawing a rifle/shotgun tag will not be easy as many are on draws' and as such make ALL of you getting a tag a low odds deal!

and also, WHY not look to go NORTH of you, say Manitoba, Ontario , they get some BIG body deer up that way

as for finding any outfitter, as I said, this will always come down to a more personal things, than just having me say GO here
as we all hunt differently and life different things,
meaning the amount of stands, acres to hunt, meals, lodging, and son on you need to be happy!
and also, when picking any outfitter, the JOB of finding a good one that meets your needs, is going to be YOU, as such!

and this is the area where the more work YOU do, the higher the odds are you will be happy!
NOT all outfitters are the same, and not all are the same from YR to YR
so when checking into outfitters, do several yrs of history on them, talk to as many hunters that used them as possible, talk to local wardens, local guns shop owners, and so on
if they been in the game long, locals will know of them and have views hunters maybe won't , being they are there ALL yr and not just a few days of a YR,
look for repeat hunters how many are there, and ask EVERY single question you have , and get answers
the time to find out they don't fit your needs isn;'t after your there and hunting or paid for a hunt type you DON"T like!
also, the great outdoors sportsman show MIGHT happen this winter in Harrisburg PA< its the largest show if its kind, folks come from around the world to set up booths and visit!, if you never been to it, its worth the trip when wanting to find outfitters!
here is a link to its dates this next show!

if you's want face to face time with hundreds of outfitters this a show worth traveling to , not to mention they will have show specials, like lower l[prices and such, BUT don;'t base the hunt on $$$< get what you want and are willing to pay for
don't let cheap prices lure you in as a main reason !!

Give these guys a look. You have 2-3 private farms to your selves and lodging. They show you the boundaries and where hunters have been successful in the past. You hang your own stands and hunt on your own. You also provide your own meals, either cook them or go out to eat.

Its been a number of years since I have been there, but you are hunting in prime Illinois farm land and a legit chance at a real giant. This was my best Whitetail taken there which scored 152” and some change.
