Default Today's My Birthday And All I Got Was "SOCKS" !!!!! 10/29

As you all know by now I have been watching this buck since late winter, see my post in this section titled " 2021 Target Buck" and the last summer pictures I got of him was August 22nd, and he didn't show back up until October 13th at 6:30am, I then went out on the 15th without seeing him, on the 19th my back was hurting and I couldn't get out of bed and he showed at 7:30am, been hunting him on/off since, and he showed up on my other cam at 12:30pm 3 days ago chasing a doe.

This morning I got settled into my climber at 5:15am, just at sunrise still a little dark out three does came from behind me, while watching them in corner of my eye I never heard him but saw his antler briefly and I knew it was him just by the size of his body. He walked off, and I had more does come in and mill around, then a very small buck who went to the area I last saw SOCKS. Sometime later I heard a grunt in that direction and few does ran off with the same small buck in tow, then I heard another grunt and saw him coming, he stopped and was looking at the does that ran off, but then he saw a lone doe under me feeding on acorns, he grunted and came towards her, and now standing at 2o yards, he then turned and fired the Victory Decimator tipped with a Rage Hypodermic from my Centerpoint 415.....I watched him run off back to where he came from and saw him drop about 80 yards . I then saw the lighted nock and waited the typical 30 mins, climbed down and went to the bolt, not much of a blood trail and walked towards where I saw him go down and that's where he was.....

I called my friend Rich, who immediately drove down.....In the mean time I struggled to get him in the jetsled, and to start the long, long drag. We took some pictures, and Rich brought his late father's knife that's about 100 years old, Rich has been part of this deer as much as me helping hang a hang on stand and sticks, but this deer never went near that stand so I've been using my climber.

I stopped at the local sporting good store to weigh him, dress weight was 184 lbs, so live weight roughly 230 lbs.

I'm so very happy, and grateful to harvesting this deer.....I've been working hard all year for him and once more a huge thank you goes out to my friend Rich for everything

We are think roughly 143" !!!

Would like to say thank you to a select few who claimed back in the winter this deer is a transitional deer and I will never see him let alone harvest him this season.....Yes he's a transitional deer, he transitioned from the woods to my wall !!!

Right as the video starts you will hear him grunt

BHC , He looks heavier than that . I've shot 4 bucks that dressed over 200+ lbs . 202 , 206 , 211 and 235 , All weighed on certified scales to get the Trophy Buck patch for Maine and New Hampshire . I would of easily guessed your buck was between 205-210 lbs . Must not be as long a deer as I thought he looked like.

Not matter what he weighs he is a beautiful trophy which you well earned ! Going to look great on the wall !
And Happy Birthday ! You could not have received a better gift from the woods than a showdown with SOCKS !
