yes I have, and I enjoyed it when I did so!
its just a type of weapon, you either enjoy using it or you don't!

Yes. And it's great. Admittedly, I haven't gotten one with it yet. Or even taken a shot. But I have carried it.

Ups the challenge.

Most of the people here my age or close to my age started with a semi recurve or a recurve.

Heck yeah...Like Oldtimr said us old fogies used recurves and long bows because that's all there was. I have to laugh when I hear these bow manufacturers boast of 300+ fps! Heck back in our day if your recurve cast an arrow 180 fps that was fast...LOL
And we killed our share of deer and other game too. And for the average Joe, 25 yards was a loooong shot.

My personal limit on my recurve it 15.

I don't practice enough to risk going any further.

Yup I started with one 55 years ago but never got a deer with it. Once I got my fist compound with sights and aluminum arrows it was a whole new game.

Y'all were mostly doing it from the ground back then too. Even more impressive!

I've shot several deer from the ground with a crossbow and compound. It's tough.

Yep. Took a couple of mulie does with a Bear 50lb recurve. I think it was the Kodiak model. It got backed over by a truck and that was the end of that bow.

Hunted deer for over 30 years with a recurve. Took a couple nice bucks and a lot venison with it. I loved shooting. After work I'd shoot in the backyard. The process of shooting forced me to put everything else out of my mind to focus on each shot. I found it relaxing. I never felt the need to go with a compound. It was just a matter of setting up a little closer to the trail. I found that although I couldn't hit as precisely as my compound shooting buddies, the wide broadheads and heavy shafts had great penetration compared to their light, fast arrows, and I usually ended up getting the deer. I miss it.
