Black River State Forest

Black River State Forest

I'm heading there with my young son soon for just two days of hunting. I don't have the time to scout it due to work pressures and living four hours away. Can anyone give me tips on where to go, specifically? It would be a great help for us - thanks!

The red oaks in the Levis Mound area have acorns this year, unlike a lot of the woods nearby. And there's enough old clearcut nearby to provide some good browse. I'd start there. Just stay away from the recreation trails.
