Drag Lines
Just wondering how many of you use these things and whether or not they are of any use. I' m thinking about buying one and wanted to know some of your opinions.
Thanks, Mike |
RE: Drag Lines
I' ll assume you mean a drag rope to drag the deer out of the woods and into the truck. The one I use goes around my chest and it' s orange. I put a bigger rope on it so I can more easily drag the deer, plus I have a noose at the end which goes over the deer' s head and onto the neck. Plus I put a few knots in it for gripping.
It works great and we use a plastic sled when snow is on the ground. Tomster |
RE: Drag Lines
Thanks for the reply, however I was talking about the drag lines that you attach to your boot and drag behind you so that the scent from your boots is minimized.

RE: Drag Lines
No sorry, I never used them. What I do with scent elimination from boots is I spray them with scent killer I made from Hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, distilled water, and some scent killer shampoo.
I spray it on the night before and that day as well. Tomster |
RE: Drag Lines
I use the scent pads that go around your boot. Usually spray fox pee on them. But I don' t think I am going to do that anymore. Im just going to go with the scent killer on the boot.
As far as using doe-in-heat scent... on a drag. Never done it, but have thought that it would be a good idea. |
RE: Drag Lines
I have used a drag line behind my quad . drive down a cut line that intsects a few deer run and trail it back out towards my blind....workd wonders for me . i had a few bucks down figure 8' s around the spot I stopped the scent trail and enjoyed the veiw.

RE: Drag Lines
I have used a drag line for a while know. However, I made my own cheaper and very easy to use and make. This method assists with covering your entery sent and also can be used to luer deer with in your shooting lane etc. Good luck! |
