Jake,
imagine a 243 that's 200 fps faster, back about 1978, the Remington ammo catalogue listed the 6mm as the flattest shooting cartridge Remington loaded, edging out the 264 win mag by a couple inches at 500 yards. took a lot of years to find a LH 788 in 6mm. stock was oil soaked and spongy so I did replace it with an aftermarket from rifle stocks.com, and it shoots like a dream. if you get a chance to buy one, do it, they were discontinued around 1990 I've had 4, shot a bunch of others and never saw one that didn't shoot very well, just not a good rifle to hotrod if you reload, the 9 rear locking lugs are prone to bolt lug compression if shot over pressure.
